Most mobile plant operated within the workplace is designed for specific proposes and due to its overall size, work location and functions can inhibit its safe operation and movement near workers and pedestrians. Many work related deaths have been reported in these circumstances and consequently legislative obligations mandate that a risk management approach must be taken to mitigate the risks associated with the operation of all such mobile plant within any workplace. This training program is designed to promote high level awareness of these hazards and risks and also to adopt a workshop approach to resolving these issues in house.

Learning outcomes:
On completion of this program participants will be able to:

  •  Describe the hazards and risks associated with the movement and operation of mobile plant within a work environment.
  •  Apply the risk management approach to traffic management risks within their workplace.
  •  Understand traffic management engineering principles.
  •  Develop a Traffic Management Plan for Mobile Plant applicable to their own workplace.

Duration: 6 hours

Aims: To provide participants with the information, knowledge and skills to enable them to mitigate the risks associated with the operation of all mobile plant within their workplace.
